At the Regency Ballroom in the
Ilkeston Co-op Derbyshire UK Seventies Style
DJ John Blach and DJ Sid man the decks on the highlight of the week SATURDAY NIGHT Soul spin with Geoff Scragg hosting the most popular Soul Night in the area. The massive Road Runner sound system really hit the lows and highs with punch ball clarity that was unique anywhere at the time.
Its 11.00 pm and here comes the first body crasher Earl Jackson's Soul Self Satisfaction followed by the Personality theme, a Mirwood acetate sent over from Los Angeles USA by non other than Simon Soussan. The Jackie Lee vocal track had been removed to showcase a hard hitting 190 mile per hour instrumental. The Steinways soften up the proceedings with their Oliver release You've been leading me on ........ subliminal!
